006. Live Life on Purpose

Way before you were born unto this earth, God saw you and gifted you with an unique set of skills and talents designed specially you. Your unique skill set has been given to you with intent for you to use this unique skill set to positively impact the world around you. If you are feeling any discontentment with yourself or the track you are on in life, it is likely due to the fact you are not living your life’s purpose. Living your life purpose adds value and fulfillment to your existence.

Do you feel like you’re losing or betraying yourself? Ever feel dissatisfied or unfulfilled? Are you wondering what on earth are you here for? Do you know what your purpose is? There is a part of you that no money, no man, nor pleasure can fill. This is only fulfilled through living a dynamic life fulfilled through carrying out your life purpose. Your purpose is divine. People may not be living their purpose at any given moment however, because purpose is divine any path you may find yourself on in life, you have the ability to get on track with your given purpose at any point in life. If you do not have a clearly defined mission, vision or purpose for your life you might find yourself living in a disillusioned state. In this case, you start to make daily decisions that are the best decision for the moment that does not impact anything or have any deeper meaning beyond in that instance. If you want your life to be different you have to first take a look at you, then determine how you want to invest your life, what you should be doing. You will never leave where you are now or your comfort zone until you determine what your purpose is. You have to make an investment in your life and decide how you will spend your life. You have to be willing to take risks and step out on faith, trusting in divinity of your unique skill set.

If you are like me, I am sure at some point you have read Rick Warren’s a Purpose Drive Life, if not I encourage you to take the time to do so. This book was very instrument in helping myself as well as millions of others discover their passions and most importantly purpose in life. According to Warren, without purpose your life holds no value and is irrelevant in this world. Many people around the world merely just exist day-to-day. So why are you here? If you do not know what your purpose is, to find out start by first defining your interests. Identify your hobbies, things you do for fun or enjoy. Identify people you admire and their qualities and why you admire them. Try to attach these qualities or principles to your hobbies and interests. Look at your passions and day-to-day actions that you find gratifying. You have been given specific talents and skills because these are the tools needed to carry out your purpose. Every person has a different set of tools which are specific to their life’s mission. In addition, to discover your purpose determine what comes natural to you. Think about the things you can accomplish with ease that may be a challenge for someone. These things correspond with your purpose; you have been given these skills to carry out your purpose.

How do you know when you’re on the right track with your purpose? You are not put in a position where you have to choose between what you want and what you have to do. You do not have to comprise your morals and values. If you are not progressing towards your God-given destiny, tension and dissatisfaction will always exist in your inner being. When we are not living our life’s purposefully we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or even irritable and trapped in a mundane fruitless routine. Live with purpose, leave the status quo behind!
